YDTC is responsible for organizing the biennial municipal caucus for the Maine Democratic party in York. These activities are coordinated at the county level with the York County Democratic Committee (www.YCDC.me). In years without a national or state election, regular YDTC meetings and special events are held on topics of interest to local democrats..

In recent years, the YDTC has begun partnering with other seacoast towns by organizing joint meetings and sharing events. For 2018, the town committees of York, Ogunquit, Kittery, South Berwick and Eliot and the York County Democratic Committee worked together to fund and set up a seacoast campaign office. The 2020 office is in York (Meadowbrook Plaza, 647 US Route 1) now through the November 15. Working in conjunction with state party staff, volunteers work to promote Democratic party candidates and encouraging people to become involved in individual campaigns at all levels of government.
